Liposuction

Am I a candidate for liposuction?

If you are in good health, within 25% of your ideal body weight, and have one or more areas of fat that are bothersome to you, yes.

What can I expect from liposuction?

Liposuction is not a weight loss procedure; it is a body contouring procedure. You will notice little change on the scale; you will see the effects of liposuction in the mirror and feel them when wearing clothes.

When will I see results of my liposuction?

Approximately six weeks you will see the difference after liposuction. It takes six months for all the swelling to disappear, the skin tightening to complete, and to see the result.

How is the liposuction performed?

The SAFELipo® technique is used. Tumescent solution is placed into the area to be treated. This minimizes the bruising of the procedure. Then the fat is Separated using a liposuction cannula. Next the fat is Aspirated with liposuction. Finally, the Fat is Equalized using a liposuction cannula. This technique minimized the risk of contour irregularities, skin damage, and bruising.

How much does liposuction cost?

The cost of liposuction is quite varied and based on the amount of liposuction performed. The cost can range from $2000 to $8000.

Breast Reduction

What is male breast reduction?

Male breast reduction treats gynecomastia, enlarged male breast tissue. Gynecomastia can be caused by certain drugs or medications such as anabolic steroids and marijuana, endocrinology disorders, or diseases of the breast including cancer; however, most gynecomastia is physiologic, meaning that it is not secondary to an abnormal stimulation or disease process.

How is gynecomastia treated?

The treatment for gynecomastia is surgery. Usually treatment involves a combination of direct excision of the excess breast tissue and liposuction of the tissues of the chest. Sometimes gynecomastia can be treated with just tissue removal or liposuction.

Who is a candidate for gynecomastia surgery?

Any male bothered by excess breast tissue may be a candidate for gynecomastia surgery. Excess breast tissue can cause men to avoid wearing tight shirts or going shirtless. Gynecomastia surgery can give men confidence about the appearance of their chest.

Are the results of gynecomastia surgery permanent?

The tissues are permanently removed and the breast does not gain excess tissue unless stimulated by drugs or disease; the chest and breast area will also enlarge with weight gain.

What is the recovery from gynecomastia surgery?

Gynecomastia surgery is an outpatient procedure; patients leave the surgery center or hospital the day of surgery. Patients can resume normal daily activities and return to non-strenuous work within a week of surgery. Patients are to avoid strenuous activity for four weeks after surgery. Patients wear a compression garment at all times except when showering; the garment is inconspicuous under almost all clothing.

How much does gynecomastia surgery cost?

The cost range for gynecomastia surgery is $6,000 – $8,000.

What is male body contouring?

Male body contouring is simply body contouring procedures performed for men. The common procedures are breast reduction surgery and liposuction; however, other procedures such as abdominoplasty and post weight loss surgery are offered to men as well.

How much does male body contouring surgery cost?

The cost is widely variable depending on what procedure(s) are performed. Liposuction cost can be $3,500 – $10,000, for example. Procedures such as liposuction and gynecomastia surgery can be combined during one operation.
